In the early 90's before internet was born I owned and

"Oakland County Connect" A BBS is what internet is today.

Although I have had to do what keeps bread on the table for my family, I have never lost my passion for computers. I was a computer tech for 6 years at a computer store where I built & repaired computers & held computer seminars.
RoadRash is now doing Specialized hauling RoadRash is completely 'connected' running his GPS (Co-Pilot is the software) and also Drivers Daily Log on his computer with every load. He has pulled just about everything and currently works for a small company out of Mississippi that has a 20 truck fleet. I love this lifestyle. I have no desire to drive, that is roadrash's job and he is so good at it, so that is his dept. I do the other stuff, like help strap a load, talk to shipper's and rece's. paperwork, deli plate maker, make coffee and get soda, fuel ticket getter...lol that sorta thing. I love being able to travel. This country is so pretty and people are really very nice. I go with him about every 2-3 months.
I have 1 yr OTR experience with RR (living on the truck)
My husband ( RoadRash) is a second generation Trucker with nearly 21 years experience. His Dad hauled heavy Equipment ( the wide stuff ) and RoadRash was helping Dad load his trailer when he was 6 years old. I tell him that his teething ring was a big truck steering wheel. His Uncle was a Trucker for many years also. He comes by it naturally and every job he has ever had always had a steering wheel involved in it. He is a very proud 'old school' driver. Old school meaning the respect and dignity that should always come with your job

In the late 90's I started a Graphics & sign shop where I designed web sites & created large format graphics that were applied to vehicles (Called Vehicle wraps). My sign shop flourished until the early 2000's when Economy started going bad. All these years I had driven Semi Trucks off & on for a good friend so when I sold the Graphics shop I bought my
own Truck & hit the road. I have been out here for 4 years full time now. I LOVE the road but sometimes I get board out here & I needed a hobby. So I set out to build a FREE Non Profit Site for truckers to relax & have fun without having to spend their money on all thoughs advertisement & Pop-ups.

Is this a joke..............I'm not laughing
This has been going on for three years now, DOT is putting drivers
out of service based on one state trooper who has developed a
"Driver Fatigue Evaluation Checklist". The "check List" is being used
as a measure in both Minnesota and Indiana to put drivers out of service supposedly due to fatigue........
If this is real then I will be put out of service every day for having a full garbage or a coffie cup in my cup holder.
I am happy to here that OODIA is getting involved in this "check List"
Let me tell you about myself. I am 53 years old and have been around the block a few times as a matter of fact I have been around the world a few times. I retired from the US Air Force in 1992. I have well over 1 million safe miles in a big truck and I am an owner operator. I am leased to a company in Ohio. I drive my butt off every week. I have also been a safety manager for a trucking company with over 450 drivers in the past.
I used to DJ and KJ(karaoke jocky) for many years as a side line all over the world. I play bass guitar and do some singing. I have been in rock bands and country bands in my younger days.
The other half of the team is my wife she has several years driving experience driving a large car coast to coast. She is also the CFO(chief financial officer) for my business. Her handle is Sunshine. We are both computer techs.
So that’s a little about us in a nut shell.
High there my handle is Stepper. I met 4x4 on I-55 N in Missouri one day and we talked on the radio for some time about the way trucking is and the way it used to be. He invited me go to Highway Trucker.com and check out his website….
Well here I am on the staff!
I will be discussing many different topics in each post and I welcome all comments. I will not talk about politics or anything that could be rude or stir the pot!
